Evie Ladin and Keith Terry in Concert
Tompkins Corners Cultural Center (TCCC) announces its first Saturday night event of the 2018 season, Evie Ladin and Keith Terry, on March 3rd, at 7:30 pm.

Innovative musicians/dancers with a quirky neo-trad soul, Oakland, California-based Evie Ladin & Keith Terry throw down original folk songs and deep interpretations of old songs, with the kinetic thrill of percussive dance. Appalachian string band music pared to the absolute minimum of accompaniment, but packed with an orchestra's worth of rhythm.

As Evie wrote to us last fall, I'm excited for the opportunity to come back to Putnam Valley, as that's where I spent all the summers of my teen years and I've not had the opportunity to return. Taking a look at your site, I have to mention, it was John Cohen who first got me playing banjo when I was a child, and I grew up going to Jay & Molly's Ashokan camp!

We're thrilled that Evie Ladin is coming home to Putnam Valley for this event to perform with Keith Terry in our acoustically-friendly historic church.

A prolific singer-songwriter, dancer and square dance caller, the polyrhythmic heat of Evie Ladin's clawhammer banjo has been heard from A Prairie Home Companion to Celtic Connections, Lincoln Center to Hardly Strictly Bluegrass.  "She can write, she can sing, and she pulls back from the saccharine brink with wit - a sharp intelligence." Grant Alden, No Depression

Keith Terry (bass, percussion, body music, vocals) is a renowned percussionist/rhythm dancer, and the founder of the International Body Music Festival.  A pioneer in contemporary Body Music, Keith produces large-scale intercultural collaborations and educational outreach. Keith brings a cinematic ear to playing bass as tonal percussion, with bells, box, body and toys.

Tompkins Corners Cultural Center is located at 729 Peekskill Hollow Road in Putnam Valley, NY.  Suggested donation is $15
