Diaspora Monologues: A Musicology (Day 2)
Diaspora Monologues: A Musicology is a performance series exploring the global and local soundscape of Chicagos African diaspora communities through the music and stories of local musicians, DJs and Afro-music lovers.
Musicology Ambassador: DJ Kishi
Like classical music conductors, Diaspora DJs orchestrate a global dance floor where bodies moving to known and foreign rhythms suddenly speak the same language. DJ Kishi brings a collective of Chicagos DJs from behind their turntables and headphones to center stage where their beats mix with stories of becoming ambassadors of African music in Diaspora. And then, Dance, dance, dance.
