These Wild Plains / Hannah Daman & the Martelle Sisters
It was only a year after THESE WILD PLAINS played their first live show to a sold out Great Scott in Allston, MA, that Esquire Magazine featured them in their 15 Bands to Watch in 2014 feature. Theyve been busy since on the live front as go-to support in Boston for national touring bands like Deer Tick, Futurebirds and The Sadies. The boys capped off 2015 with a Boston Music Award nomination, opening for Evan Dando at his induction into the BMA Hall of Fame.
If Carrie Underwood is the festivals beautifully cut, bazillion-karat diamond of a headliner, These Wild Plains are the craggy hunk of coal husky, raw and waiting for an extraordinary amount of pressure and duress to transform them into something precious. Like Lucero and Chris Stapleton before them, they trade in love songs and grand, spacious sojourns befitting of their name. Hilary Hughes LA Weekly
Hannah Daman first cut her teeth in glasgow, scotland writing and playing songs about her childhood in rural new england. after striking out on a north american house show tour in 2014 she ended up rooting in portland, me.
there she joined locals, megan and francesca martelle, who brought their classical strings prowess and haunting harmonies to the original tunes when they formed hannah daman and the martelle sisters in january of 2016.
since then, they have had the honor of playing throughout new england and sharing the stage with the likes of kaleo, jamestown revival, david mallett, the ghost of paul revere, the ballroom thieves, and parsonsfield.
