Q: What is Samizdat?
A: Samizdat is a collective of socially and artistically conscious DJs, musicians and artists dedicated to the creation, curation and distribution of fresh music, booty shaking beats and good vibes in the face of a society on the precipice.

Finally emerging into the public eye after a series of living room DJ salons, Samizdat Prime is our premiere event.

Dance with us in celebration of the first of many nights (and sunrises if we're doing it right) to come. Samizdat resident DJs Macksimal, Queen Bee, Red Echo and Scotto pull their influences from across an eclectic beatscape - expect the freshest underground [microgenre youve never heard of] on the main stage. (Also, Bass Music, West Coast House and Trap.) Or escape to the side parlour, where well be curating an ambient and downtempo experience tailored for optimum chill and intimacy. And if youre lucky, you might catch a glimpse of our special guest, DJ Africa by Toto.

Since everyone knows that life is more fun while wearing costumes, the first fifty people to wear costumes inspired by our theme get a half price ticket. The theme is THE RISE OF ANARCHO-COMMUNISM AND THE IMMOLATION OF THE CAPITALIST STATE! (Just kidding - the theme is robots.) (Also kidding - there are no half price tickets.)

Samizdat is born of a tribe that practices celebration as a way of life, and this collective has been several years in the making without our consciously knowing it. We are invested in inviting intrepid travellers to journey with us on the regular. Join us for lift off at Samizdat Prime!
