NYCARG First Annual Holiday Fundraiser
New York City Animal Rescue Girls (NYCARG)  a New York City-based animal rescue group founded by actress Alicia Harding  is proud to announce its First Annual NYCARG Holiday Fundraiser on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Katch Astoria in Queens. One hundred percent of proceeds will be used to fund NYCARGs valuable rescue services, which include TNR (trap, neuter, rehome), adoption and fostering services, as well as veterinary care for our furry friends in need of medical attention.

As a not-for-profit operating on donations alone, NYCARGs First Annual Holiday Fundraiser is made possible by the generosity of local businesses, including Katch Astoria, which is providing the venue at no-cost; and nearly two dozen business owners across the Tri-State area, who, cumulatively donated nearly two dozen auction and raffle items.

NYCARGs First Annual Holiday Fundraiser will feature live performances by three Queens natives, including comedians Brandon Collins and Thomas F. Ray; and singer Syrissa Maria Sacca  all of whom are performing pro-bono. Collins and Ray will each be performing their own stand-up comedy routines, and Sacca will be perform three ballads alongside Freddie Heinemann, the guitarist of the New York City-based band, FISK.  NYCARG will also be honoring President and Founder, Alicia Harding, along with a surprise VIP guest from Queens, who will be presented with NYCARGs Animal Advocacy Award.

The program will also include silent auctions and raffles, where attendees can enter for a chance to win a number of donated unique items and/or services including floatation therapy, a reiki session, a private event tarot card reader, a complete makeover, pet grooming services, a five-day stay at NYC Pet Pet Services (pet hotel), yoga classes, original jewelry pieces from Alicia Marilyn Designs, tickets to the Gazillion Bubble Show, tickets to Popovich Comedy Pet Theatre - and much, much more.

Since its founding in 2015, NYCARG has rescued more than 200 homeless and/or unwanted animals from the streets of New York City via adoption and fostering services. There are nearly 75 NYCARG volunteers across the Tri-State area that assist with everything from trapping and rescuing, to animal transport and fostering, to fundraising and outreach.

Tickets to NYCARGs First Annual Holiday Fundraiser start at $10 and can be purchased online or by cash on-site.

ABOUT NYCARG

New York City is home to tens of thousands of stray cats, and this number continues to rise rapidly. Some of these cats have been abandoned by careless pet owners, while others are born to a life on the streets. No matter what their circumstance, the grim reality is that the majority of stray cats do not live past the age of three. Every day, they struggle to find access to food, shelter and water. Many others die after being struck by a car, ingesting rat poison or freezing to death during the winter months.

In 2015, Harding could not help but notice a colony of feral cats near home. As the daughter of an animal rescuer, she felt compelled to help. With experience in TNR she took to the streets and removed all 20 them from the dangerous conditions. Little did Harding know, that fateful would be the birth of New York City Animal Rescue Girls.  What started as a one-woman operation has quickly evolved.
