Gangspil! LIVE Danish Folk Music
Members of the 2016 Danish Grammy-winning band Gangspil will be making a rare appearance in Troy, New York. Kristian Bugge (fiddle) and Sonnich Lydom (accordion / harmonica / vocals). Two of Denmark's leading folk musicians take you on a traditional folk music tour of Denmark! Enjoy a lively evening of music, Danish style.
"This lively duo performs old dance tunes and songs from every corner of their Scandinavian home country. From rural islands like Læsø to the metropol Copenhagen, including a few of their own compositions. Expect everything from wild polkas and jigs to lyrical waltzes, fiery reels and happy hopsas, plus the exotic Sønderhoning dance tunes from the famous Island of Fanø, and long forgotten songs from all over the country. An unforgettable live experience spiced up with humor and stories from their many years on the road."
Located in the historic Trojan Hotel, O'Briens Public House offers a variety of food and beverage options. The event will be held in the private, event space that has historic elements from the turn of the century! For those who wish to, there will be a area to dance so bring your dance shoes :)
