Messiah Symposium Full Day (Conductors Only)
Led by Doreen Rao, the MCTB Messiah Symposium features morning classes focused on score preparation, performance practices and conducting techniques as these relate specifically to teaching and performing Handels Messiah. Following a lunch break, the Choral Symposium will feature a public Conducting Masterclass led by Doreen Rao and joined by special guest Michael Francis (Florida Orchestra's Music Director) and The Master Chorale Ensemble Singers.
The Choral Symposium and Conducting Master Class is open to all conductors who pre-register.
Symposium - 9:30 am - 4:30 pm (Registration Required, boxed lunch included) Masterclass - 2:00 - 4:30 pm (open to the public, ticket required for observers*)

Conducting Opportunity We are offering a limited number of choral symposium participants the opportunity to conduct assigned Messiah movements, conducting the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay for the afternoon public Masterclass with Doreen Rao and Michael Francis.
Those who register for the choral symposium and wish to be considered as a master class conductor should apply for a conducting position by sending a copy of your curriculum vitae along with your full name, address, contact info, and professional association (school, choir, orchestra, church, etc.) to the Chorale's Managing Director, Kara Dwyer, at kara@masterchorale.com. An additional $50 fee will be required upon approval of your participation as a master class conductor.
*Master Class Observation Tickets (not attending the full day symposium) will be $10 at the door and available online for purchase in advance.
