Join us for a festive night of drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and light dinner to support Neighbors Helping Neighbors' and Fifth Avenue Committee's tenant advocacy, homeownership, and foreclosure prevention counseling programs.
This year, we are pleased to be honoring New York City Council Member Carlos Menchaca with our Community Leadership Award for his ongoing leadership on behalf of immigrant communities. As Chair of the Committee on Immigration, Councilman Menchaca has led negotiations that funded the nation's largest public defender program for undocumented immigrants and for the greatest City allocation in recent history for adult literacy services. Councilman Menchaca stands in solidarity with low-income Latino and Hispanic tenants in Sunset Park, defending their rights and demanding an end to discriminatory treatment and harassment from their landlords.
We will also be presenting the Association for Neighborhood and Housing Development (ANHD) with a special recognition for its bank reinvestment work on the 40th anniversary of the Community Reinvestment Act.
