"Blood Road" Movie Night Fundraiser
Idaho Walk Bike Alliance and Idaho Falls Community Pathways, in partnership with Idaho Falls Parks and Recreation Department, are bringing the Idaho Falls premiere of Blood Road to The Waterfront on Thursday, December 7 at 7:00 p.m.
Blood Road follows the journey of ultra-endurance mountain bike athlete, and Idaho native, Rebecca Rusch and her Vietnamese riding partner, Huyen Nguyen, as they pedal 1,200 miles along the infamous Ho Chi Minh Trail through the dense jungles of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Their goal: to reach the crash site and final resting place of Rebeccas father, a U.S. Air Force pilot shot down over Laos some 40 years earlier. During this poignant voyage of self-discovery, the women push their bodies to the limit while learning more about the historic Blood Road theyre pedaling and how the Vietnam War shaped their lives in different ways.
Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 on the day of the screening. Proceeds from the screening will benefit the Idaho Walk Bike Alliance, Idaho Falls Community Pathways and the Mines Advisory Group (MAG) America. Idaho Falls Community Pathways advocates for walking and biking infrastructure improvements in the City of Idaho Falls. The Idaho Walk Bike Alliance works statewide to ensure that communities like Idaho Falls, and organizations like Idaho Falls Community Pathways, get the money, support and technical assistance they need to build and maintain great walking and biking networks. MAG finds and destroys landmines and dangerous unexploded ordnance leftover from the conflict.
