Lana Joy Band - LIVE - In a Children's Concert Benefit!
WHO:
The band Lana Joy will be performing a selection of classic folk/bluegrass/Americana songs from their album, "This Little Light" in support of Children's Country Home. https://soundcloud.com/lana_joy
Children's Country Home is a non-profit, pediatric group home in Woodinville that provides 24-hour residential care to medically fragile children from infancy through young adulthood. When a child has profound disabilities & complex medical needs, but is no longer a good fit for hospital level care, providing the necessary round-the-clock attention can be exhausting & overwhelming. Families in this situation turn to Childrens Country Home to help provide long-term, transitional, respite & end of life care and treatment that is essential to the childs well-being.
WHAT:
A family-friendly fundraiser to help implement a music therapy program for the kids living at Children's Country Home. Enjoy a great afternoon of music, food & refreshments (available & for sale), and a small silent auction in a casual environment that seats about 120 people.
The band will do two sets of very kid-friendly music, and in between there will be a brief "talent show" from some local kiddos. This will not be a formal/stuffy affair by any means! Plan to grab a beer (if you're an adult) sing along to the songs you know and dance, if you feel so inclined.
WHEN:
Sunday, Nov. 12th, 2017. Doors open at 2pm. The show is expected to start at about 2:15.

WHY:
This project started with a band that wanted to produce family oriented songs that both adults and children can enjoy. It grew into a new album (available on CD at the concert, or downloadable online) called "This Little Light". The concert and album were inspired by the desire to bring more music into the world of the children who get their medical, physical, emotional, cognitive, social, therapeutic & spiritual needs met at Children's Country Home.
