Vox Resonat - Day of the Dead: Three Generations in Mourning
The vocal soloists of Vox Resonat present Day of the Dead: Three Generations in Mourning, a special program for the Hope Abbey Mausoleum in the Eugene Masonic Cemetery. The centerpiece of this concert is the earliest known Requiem setting, written by Johannes Ockeghem in the 15th century. Ockeghem's lament on the death of his forebear, Gilles Binchois; Josquin's lament on the death of Ockeghem, and movements from Richafort's Requiem, written as a lament on the death of Josquin, complete the program.
The beautiful interior of the mausoleum provides a perfect atmosphere for the sonorous voices of Vox Resonat, and their Day of the Dead program has sold out three years running. Advance purchase is recommended.
