Celebrate Our Birthdays With Us And Help Support Our Mission To Feed the Hungry in Our Community
November 11, 9am to 10 am Fiske Hall, Universalist Church, West Hartford, CT 06107
Fern Street Community Kitchen, A Ministry of the Universalist Church of West Hartford has lots to celebrate. Over the past five years we grown to feed an average of over 300 hungry neighbors, friends, children, seniors each week.
Here's what we do:
Serve free breakfasts
Operate a food pantry
Fill backpacks with food for school children
Make sandwiches for the homeless
Host a Mobile Foodshare truck
Proceeds from ticket sales and donations will directly support the continuing work and growth of The Fern Street Community Kitchen programs.
At this event you will experience a delicious community breakfast just as our clients do.
Menu includes:
Egg and Cheese Sandwhiches (a client favorite)
Sausage
Fruit
Pasteries
Juice
Coffee
Meet our new minister Rev. Adam Robersmith
Hear from local leaders about how our work makes the community stronger.
Door prizes!
Fill a backpack: Kids and the young at heart are encouraged to bring items and help fill backpacks for school children needing extra food for the weekend. Items needed: peanut butter and jelly (no glass containers), fruit cups, mac and cheese, cereal (small boxes), tunafish, canned pasta with meat, granola bars/breakfast bars, juice boxes.
