The Book Event
Authors Suzanne Selfors and Bharti Kirchner will talk about their books at The Book Event, a P.E.O. fundraiser supporting women's education.
Suzanne writes fiction for young people -- from tweens to teens. She has been compared to Roald Dahl for her humor and quirky characters. The byline on her series Smells Like Dog is No dogs die in this book giving you an idea of her sense of humor and positive outlook. From friends who apprentice with a veterinarian who treats mythical animals to an actress from a famous stage family who gets magically transported to Shakespeare's Verona during a production of Romeo and Juliet, youll meet kids who meet their problems head on and solve them. I think youll be able to cross several young people off your Christmas list once you meet Suzanne.
Bharti writes novels with south Asian flair. Her newest book was just released and is garnering positive reviews. She is excited with "Season of Sacrifice", her 7th novel, because it promises to kick off a mystery series featuring Maya, a detective, and her wise mother Uma, and is set in Seattle. All her fiction seems to feature strong women who come into their own. Plus, Bharti has several cookbooks!
Secret Garden Bookshop will be present selling books for signings after the event.
The P.E.O. Sisterhood proudly supports women with six philanthropies, including ownership of a women's college and projects that provide higher educational assistance to women from all walks of life.
