Michael Campell, "The Golden Age of the Piano: A sampling of Piano Music from 1890-1940"
We welcome pianist, Dr. Michael Campbell from Rhode Island to share a delightful piano solo program feature music from the Golden Age of the piano. Dr. Campbell is a musician of diverse interests. In addition to his teaching, he is the author of three best-selling music textbooks and an active performer in classical and popular styles. His workshop, Talking Music, (see event on Oct. 30, 2017) and recital program are designed to share his areas of expertise. We hope to share the weekend events with you and your studio!
The program will include: 2 Scarlatti Sonatas Allegro Barbara and 4 Hungarian Peasant Songs by Bartok 5 Songs without Words by Mendelssohn Pieces by Irving Berlin Ragtime! Stravinsky Piano Rag Fats Waller French Waltz Medley, Valse Nobles Sentimentales 3 Chopin pieces, Ab Impromptu, Fm Nocturne, Ab Polonaise
To be enjoyed with a projection of program notes and art film.
