Michael Campbell: Talking Music Workshop
Held at the Valley Center for Performing Arts on the campus of Holy Names University 3500 Mountain Blvd. Oakland CA, 94703 10am- noon $35
Teach your students to improvise! This workshop will give you hands-on experience from a master of improvisation. Using the early teaching pieces as a foundation for creativity, Michael Campbell will share his wealth of knowledge and expertise to guide teachers to help their students be free to explore music making through improv.
Michael Campbell is the director of Suzuki Piano Plus. He has been a piano teacher since 1965, a university music professor since 1974, a Suzuki dad since 1981, and a Suzuki piano teacher since 1990. He is a lifetime member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas. Dr. Campbell is a musician of diverse interests. In addition to his teaching, he is the author of three best-selling music textbooks and an active performer in classical and popular styles. This workshop is designed to share his areas of expertise with hands-on experience.
You're also welcome to his concert on Sunday, October 29, 4pm. "The Golden Age of the Piano" at Holy Names University, Valley Center for Performing Arts. Workshop participants may attend the concert free of charge.
