Tricks & Treats Weekend 2017: A Spook-tacular Weekend of Swing and Shag.
It's the time of year for everyone's favorite holiday: Folloween! This year, we are expanding Folloween into a weekend event, filled with national champion instructors, live music, two nights of dancing and the first Carolina Shag workshop to hit Las Vegas in years!
Saturday & Sunday workshops at Ballroom Addiciton.

Friday Night - Boomers Swings Halloween Edition
The Swingin'-ist party in all of Las Vegas turns into the Scariest, Swingin-ist party in all of Las Vegas! Join us for a night of drinking, dancing, and other forms of merriment. Plus, the return of the epic SwingDanceVegas Halloween Costume Contest. As a special treat, the world famous Lindy Hopkins will be teaching the Intermediate lesson at 7:30p. Boomers Swings is held at Boomers Bar (3200 W. Sirius Ave) and is 21+ w/id.
Saturday - Folloween, an All-Day Swingin' Styling Workshop
The event that started all returns! Swing dance champion, and the original Folloween instrutor, Irina Amzashivli returns to Las Vegas...but this time she's not alone! Natalia Eristavi is one of the rising stars in the Swing Dance scene, placing and winning competitions in Lindy hop, West Coast Swing, and Carolina Shag. Together, Natalia and Irina (did we mention they are sisters?), along with the world famous Lindy Hopkins will inspire you with movements and steps that you can use with (or without!) a partner.
Sunday - Beginning Carolina Shag Workshop (2 75-minute classes)
For the first time in years, Carolina Shag is returning to Las Vegas with Natalia & Irina leading us to this new promised land of good music and better footwork. The state dance of South Carolina, Carolian Shag is a smooth Swing dance most often danced to the slower, relaxing tempos of "beach music." Check out this clip of two of the greatest Carolina Shag dancers of all time, Charlie Womble and Jackie McGee, polishing the dance floor till it shines as bright as them:

Bios:
Natalia Eristavi
Natalia began Swing dancing in late 2010 at Atomic Ballroom in Irvine California. Since then, she has become one of LAs young and up and coming Lindy Hop, Balboa and Jazz dancers. Drawing much of her inspiration from the original swing dancers from Southern California, she seeks to maintain a level of attention to detail that is both authentic and creative.
Natalia has competed, performed and taught at numerous events around the world. Her goal as a teacher is to inspire individual creativity as well as help build a clear and comfortable platform of technique for her students. Along with her love of performance and teaching, she is at the height of her self expression when social dancing with multiple partners from all manner of backgrounds and styles.

Alan Stokes (North Carolina):
Alan has been indulging his love of Shag since he was 14 years old. A National Champion in Carolina Shag, Alan is a certified Keeper of the Dance, an award given by the Beach Shaggers National Hall Of Fame to honor former junior shaggers who have continued to participate in our dance, music, and lifestyle after their junior years and have been instrumental in keeping the dance and music alive. Irina Amzashvili
Dancing has always been a passion for Irina, her expression completely and boundlessly inspired by music. She began Lindy Hop at the age of 15 and fell in love with it after her first night of social dancing. Since then, her passion for Swing dancing expanded to include solo Jazz, Balboa, and Collegiate Shag.
Since her start in Lindy Hop in 2009, Irina has competed and taught across the U.S. as well as Europe. As a teacher she attempts to patiently guide her students through building solid foundation and technique as well as inspiring unique and personal movement and rhythm. Irina's most prominent goal as a teacher is to see her students progress with their dancing, no matter the increment.
The World Famous Lindy Hopkins
The Lindy Hopkins have been dancing together since 2009. They have won various contests and have performed all over the country. They are members of the Camp Hollywood Hall of Fame. They love to teach, and are excited to be a small part of the preservation of jazz and swing. They also run BadAZ Balboa, Swingdependance, and the Phoenix Lindy Exchange. Based out of Mesa, AZ, they run weekly venues and teach all levels of swing. Often they can be seen with their little cohort, Alice.
