Doing Jewish: A Story From Ghana
During a community service trip to Ghana, a young Canadian Jewish filmmaker connects with a remote Jewish community that had been practicing Judaism in isolation for centuries. In this heartwarming and thought-provoking documentary, viewers become acquainted with members of the community, their long history, their struggle for acceptance, and the challenges involved in maintaining their existence. As this group tries to find their place in the Jewish world, the question of who is Jewish arises, and a number of experts are interviewed to address this controversial topic.
Speaker: Jeffrey Haus, Director of the Jewish Studies Program will lead a question and answer session after the screening.
