Integration of Buddhist Practice In Modern Life
Buddhist teachings are at the heart of contemporary mindfulness studies. This mini-retreat offers a review of the key teachings of the historical Buddha including the Four Noble Truths (which point to the inevitability of human suffering, its causes, and its remedy) and the Eight Fold Path (which provides an ethical template to guide the healing transformation of our thoughts, feelings, and behavior,) and how these may be directly applied to modern urban life with all of its complexities.
During the four hour retreat we will weave didactics, preliminary practice sessions on mindfulness, inquiry based insight and skills based training, followed with both group discussions, and moments of personal reflection.
