So why not spend a day exploring (and noshing) your way through three of our finest indies.
11 to 11:45am | Meet, greet, and shop at Bookends & Beginnings, a cozy eclectic store nestled in an alley in the heart of Evanston, featuring new and used books, gifts, stationery with an outstanding cookbook section and kids books in 28 foreign languages.
12 to 1:15pm | Lunch at Farmhouse Evanston, a funky farm-themed hangout with salvaged decor serving American comfort food, regional beers & wines.
1:30pm | Board a bus to Andersonville, for a stop at Women & Children First, Chicago's feminist and LGBTQ bookstore, established in 1979a store thats as political as it is literary. Enjoy some sweets from neighboring Taste of Heaven.
2:30pm | Move on to The Book Cellar: What could be a better combination than books, wine by the glass, cozy chairs and the delicious café fare featured at this beloved literary hotspot at the center of the culturally diverse neighborhood once known as the city's Germantown?
3:30pm | Board bus back to Bookends & Beginnings in Evanston.
Please note that parking is available for FREE on Sundays in the Sherman Avenue, Maple Avenue or Church Street parking garages (www.downtownevanston.org/parking). Downtown Evanston is also accessible via the CTA Purple Line or Metra UP-N Line, which both stop at Davis Street.
