2018 Spring - Full Circle
While the PWC has embarked on many musical adventures around the world, we keep the Bay Area close to our hearts. With each new journey, we are more deeply connected with one another and the Earth, much like the threads of a quilt.
The PWCs spring concert weaves through the diverse cultures and social changes that are represented in the Bay Area. This concert spotlights Ron Jeffers Native American themes in We Wake the Day and This we know, David Contes authentic arrangements of Three Mexican Folksongs, and east-meets-west settings of Bashos haiku poetry in On a Mountain Path by Peter Knell, creating a rich tapestry of endless discoveries. We bring the season to a close with the traditional Appalachian folksong Will the Circle Be Unbroken, celebrating the power of song to create community.
