DESCRIPTION:
In this elemental 5Rhythms experience we will explore the teachings and medicine alive in each of these states of being. We will journey through the physical gateways of the body.
In community, we will practice to embody and discover which of the rhythms are thriving within us and become aware of the energies which are lying dormant ready to be tapped. We do this to discover our personal practice and through practice we strengthen our human tool kit to bring more fullness into our lives.
In the dance we move to unlock tension, to clear our channel of stagnant energy, and to open into an enlivened, instinctual and creative wellspring.
During this weekend of movement and ritual, we will move to embrace the light we bring as well as the shadows that dwell within in order to integrate and unify body, mind and soul.
We will wave the sacred with the mundane to create a potent medicine wheel in which we will offer to ourselves, the community and beyond. ___________________________
AMBER RYAN: *Certified 5Rhythms Teacher
My first memories are of music and dance. Dance and music have always been my passion. As I journeyed down life's path they became my refuge; a place where I could allow my heart to express all the vibrations that I did not have words for, a place to empty out all that pent up energy inside.
At a young age I became a competitive dancer as well as a student teacher in the dance studio. Dance led me to my next passion: the theatre. I studied at Florida School of the Arts and Florida State University. While at Florida State I had a devastating injury to my ankle the night before I was to open my first show there. This injury became one of my biggest gifts, one of my first deep teachers. During my healing process one of my acting professors handed me Gabrielle's book, on page one, I knew Gabrielle would be my teacher. It is with great honor and humility that I became a student of both Gabrielle and Jonathan in 2000 and that now I have to opportunity to share what I have learned with so many.
I dance for my own freedom and yours. I dance to continuously turn life's challenges into sacred art.
