Shakespeare-In-Hospitals Year-End Showcase
The 2014 Shakespeare-In-Hospitals Program will conclude its run with a final performance to the public on December 18th and 19th at Fraser Studios. Artists from the indie theatre scene will showcase their own stories from performing in unconventional space such as patient rooms, combined with the dramatic and comic material that they have been taking into hospital rooms for the past three months.
The 2014 ensemble is led by a team of dynamic up-and-coming directors, including Shakespeare-In-The-Ruff's Andrew Joseph Richardson, Good Old Neon's Nicole Wilson and 2014 Toronto Fringe's New Play Winner Alexander Offord, FringeKids Frequent Kyle Villeneuve, Theatre Brouhaha's Tom McGee, and the SOTMSC's, Victoria Urquhart. Performing in the ensemble is Hart House Theatre's Erin Eldershaw, Emma Burns, Erin Roche, Andrew Gaunce, Ale House Theatre's Andrea Massoud, and Wilex Ly.
The Shakespeare-In-Hospitals Project provides arts engagement as distraction and relief to patients, clients, and communities in hospitals, hospices, senior residences and shelters throughout Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. Performances of Shakespearean scenes, monologues, and choral pieces are developed and performed for audiences in atriums, cafeterias, waiting rooms, and even in patients' rooms throughout the year.
The show runs at Fraser Studios for December 18th and 19th @ 8:00PM General Tickets: $15 Students/Arts Workers: $10 All proceeds go towards the 2014 Shakespeare-In-Hospitals Project.
