Seed Starting Intensive
This intensive two-day workshop is perfect for the gardener who wants to get a jump-start on the season! Why wait around for the nurseries to start carrying vegetable starts when you can save money and grow your own? Best of all you can grow varieties you can't find in stores. Students will learn what it takes to start seeds indoors from buying the supplies to transplanting out into the garden. Topics will include seed selection, cool crops and heat crops, pricking out and potting up as well as hardening off plants and will focus on home-scale operations. Each student will take home starts and seeds planted in class. If you have seeds you'd like to start, bring them along!
Class will take place in the unheated Seattle Tilth Greenhouse so dress warmly and ready to get dirty. Bring your own mug and we'll provide the hot water and tea.
