Northwest Asian American Film Festival Benefit: "Searching for Asian America"
*** ADVANCE TICKETS NO LONGER AVAILABLE! *** PLEASE PURCHASE TICKETS AT THE DOOR! ***
Join Northwest Asian American Theatre for a special sneak preview of the PBS documentary series "Searching for Asian America" produced by the National Asian American Telecommunications Association. The subjects of the documentary include two Filipino doctors who've made their homes in the hog-farming town of Guymon, Oklahoma; Lela Lee, actor and creator of the underground comic strip "Angry Little Girls"; and Washington's own Governor Gary Locke.
The evening begins with a reception in the Wing Luke Asian Museum at 6:30pm. The screening is at 8:00pm in the Theatre Off Jackson, followed by a Q&A with series producer Donald Young hosted by Mimi Gan of KING 5's "Evening Magazine." Refreshments will be served in the Theatre Off Jackson lobby afterwards.
Proceeds from the screening will benefit Northwest Asian American Film Festival 2003 which will be held in October. We hope you'll join us for this exciting event!
