The Gift of the Magi
EverGreen Theatre Ensemble rings in the holiday season with a unique take on a classic tale of selflessness and love. Complete with Santaâs reindeer Prancer and an elf, EverGreen Theatreâs adaptation of O. Henryâs âGift of The Magiâ brings to light the true meaning of the holidays.
Directed by EverGreen ensemble member Daniel A. Scurek, the all-ages show opens Dec. 4 and runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m., until Dec. 19 at the Naperville Womenâs Club, 14 S. Washington St., in Naperville. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children and can be purchased in person prior to the show or online at www.evergreentheatreensemble.org. Reservations taken by phone at 630.544.9504.
Fluctuating between 1905 and 2005, the play follows a mischievous and spirited elf that, after having fallen short on a few promises, receives an order from Prancer to learn about giving by helping a poor young couple find and purchase Christmas gifts for one another. Mixed with modern humor and references, this new adaptation of a holiday classic is heartwarming, funny and perfect for the whole family.
