THIS IS TREATMENT
Elizabeth Addison's musical, THIS IS TREATMENT, a story about women helping women recover, restores sight and gives society a place of restoration. Inspired to write THIS IS TREATMENT after her stay at a long term, residential treatment program for substance abuse, Elizabeth's music and story allow all of us to reclaim our humanity, gives us back our daughters, mothers, fathers and sons and lets "us" see them as "us".
The song and story will bring us, the American people back into ourselves. Nobody grows up wanting to be addict or wanting their loved ones to become addicted derelicts. THIS IS TREATMENT restores the dream, allows us to believe that recovery can be our reality.
Inspired by the musicals RENT, NEXT TO NORMAL and IN THE HEIGHTS, Addison's score is a mix of Rock, Pop, Blues and Soul. THIS IS TREATMENT will have you leaving the theatre humming a tune and with a warm feeling in your heart!
