By Michele L. Vacca Directed by Brooke Ferguson and Christina Lo Bello
Rumpelstiltskin is an adaptation of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale about a mischievous dwarf and one big, golden lie! The play stars children ages 6 through 9 from throughout Connecticut, and it is appropriate for audiences of all ages. The production is directed by Brooke Ferguson and Christina LoBello.
In addition to opening the theater's fifth season, Rumpelstiltskin is the first play to be performed at the theater's new space at the New Britain-Berlin YMCA. NBYT has created an 80-seat performance space, as well as classroom, office, and storage space, in 1,800 square feet on the basement level of the facility (which is accessible by stairs and elevator). Located next to the New Britain Public Library and the New Britain Youth Museum, the new location for NBYT is also at a hub for youth activities.
