NICKEL AND DIMED By Joan Holden, based on Barbara Ehrenreich's book "Nickel and Dimed, On (Not) Getting By in America"
Can a single female -- fit, and of reasonable intelligence -- land in a strange town, find a place to live and a crappy job, hold the job for a month, eat, keep her clothes clean, and save enough to make next month's rent? That's what Barbara sets out to discover in "Nickel and Dimed." What she actually discovers is much more.
