DONNA STERNBERG & DANCERS presents "One Song, Many Dances", a celebration of dance, music and culture,  on November 7 and 8 at 8:30 pm.  Five dance companies from different cultural backgrounds interpret one piece of music by renowned world music composer Yuval Ron.  This grand experiment investigates how an audience's perception of music is affected by seeing it through the lens of dances from different cultures.  Performing on the program are Arpana Dance Company (India), Esplendor Dance Company (Latin), Mandala DanceWorks (Middle East) Wilfried Souly (Africa) and Donna Sternberg & Dancers (contemporary American).    In light of recent current events, this showcasing of the beauty of cultural diversity through dance could not be timelier.   Ethnomusicologists Munir Beken and Lisa Richardson will speak on musical perception and moderate a panel discussion with the choreographers focusing on the cultural elements that define their work and the influences they had on interpreting Mr. Ron's music.
