Oregon Mandolin Orchestra Fall Concert
The Oregon Mandolin Orchestra, in its fifth concert season, will perform a "best of" set of music that includes Barber's Adagio for Strings, Schubert's Unfinished Symphony in B Minor (first movement), Calace's Tarantella and VI Mazurka, Villalpando's Marche Zacatecas, Allen's Dance of the Lunatics, and two arrangements by Music Director Brian Oberlin, Chicago and Gridiron Heroes. These pieces, although not originally written for mandolin orchestra, are a perfect fit for the 30-member mandolin orchestra comprised of 1st and 2nd mandolins, mandolas, mandocellos, and basses. As always, the Oregon Mandolin Orchestra will have a featured guest. This concert will feature Music Director Brian Oberlin, playing selections from his new Italian Classical Solo Mandolin album, Capriccio Fantastico.
