Mobile Chapter Alabama Society of CPAs presents the Don Farmer Federal Update Seminar with Walter H. Nunnallee, Esq., CPA, Professor at NC Central University.
A review of 2014/2015 tax legislation including, the new "capitalization" regulations which must be followed for 2014 tax years; Major provisions of the Affordable Care Act becoming effective in 2014 including the penalty for individuals who do not have medical coverage and the premium assistance credit; Important regulation provisions (including the final 3.8% Net Investment Income Tax Regulations), court cases (including the Supreme Court's review of the Quality Stores severance pay issue), rulings, etc.; The status of tax provisions that expired at the end of 2013; IRS audit issues and other practical problems affecting CPAs. The developments covered will be those important to practitioners and CPAs in industry. Tax planning opportunities will be emphasized.
