The Cruising Monologues
Jose Batista-Ayala together with the Jersey City Pride Festival will bring The Cruising Monologues to The Brightside Tavern in Jersey City for one night only on Thursday, October 23, at 8pm. The performance follows three sold-out performances at the West Village's cabaret venue The Duplex, the East Village's legendary Nuyorican Poets Cafe and the Bronx's B.A.A.D.
Inspired by Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues, The Cruising Monologues tells the stories of six individuals and their experiences with "cruising," the act of walking or driving around town in search of a little romance, usually of the gay, anonymous, casual, one-time variety. The show features comical monologues, poetry, and dance in an eye-opening evening of laughter.
