Sara Swenson | "Runway Lights" Release (Platte City Outdoor House Show)
I once stepped off a stage in Kansas City and met a kind and handsome Englishman, fell in love with him over long visits and Skype, and then put my life in a storage unit so I could step across the Atlantic to see if it worked out. Runway Lights is a collection of songs I wrote in the 18 months that followed.
These songs reflect love, change, transition, excitement, confusion, London, Belfast, home... They are personal and have stories behind them, and I want to share those stories along with the songs.
So to release the album, I invite you to this house show, where we can gather in the evening outside and I can tell you about a few of my experiences in that magical space and time, and I can make music in front of you without rushing off stage because another band is up right behind me.
Because the venue is someone's home, I won't post the address online. Instead, if you purchase tickets on this site, you'll see the address in a message immediately after purchase. We'll also send you an email reminder the week of the show.
And because this show will be outside, plan to bring lawn chairs and blankets! If it ends up rainy, we'll find some shelter.
This isn't a typical format, and it won't happen all the time, so I hope you'll take advantage and join us for this special event. I'm really looking forward to sharing the experience with you.
