Madame Burlesque
The legends of burlesque are still amongst us in spirit. Watch as The Boston Babydolls Burlesque re-create a magical evening that never was! Classic burlesque performances are re-imagined and created fresh for modern audiences. See burlesque from high art (a Sally Rand-inspired bubble dance en pointe) to low comedy, with all of the glamour, glitz, and sizzle of a night at Minsky's (without the raid). With new set pieces, costumes, and takes on original tunes, this steamy evening will have your pulse-pounding.
MADAME BURLESQUE features The Boston Babydolls rotating cast: Miss Mina Murray, Betty Blaize, Brigitte Bisoux, Devora Darling, Evie Sphinx and Stella Diamond. The show is hosted by Scratch, who doesn't take his clothes off, but is a pretty funny guy and does some impressive magic.
The Boston Babydolls are New England's leading burlesque troupe. Named "Best Burlesque" by The Boston Phoenix, The Improper Bostonian, and The Weekly Dig, they run the only dedicated burlesque school in New England. The troupe has performed all over the country, and shared the stage with burlesque luminaries like Angie Pontani and Kitten DeVille, and legends like Tempest Storm and Satan's Angel.
The show runs approximately two hours with one 15-minute intermission.
