Big Range Austin Dance Festival 2009 is unlike any other dance festival in Austin. We deliver diverse concepts of contemporary dance created from a diverse selection of choreographers and require them to present new, never seen before, dance. Four different programs, all to be performed in one location, right in the heart of our growing city! No other dance festival in Austin offers such programming.

We are proud of the 19 new dances created for our festival, choreographers and dancers from Austin, San Antonio, Bryan, Dallas, Virginia, and Brooklyn, will grace the stage of spacious yet intimate Ballet Austins Venture Studio. Each artist shines within their expression of movement, ranging from classical contemporary dance to movement-based performance art, mixing media and theme-based collaborations. The big range of movement in this festival is reaching out to the arts community and dance audiences in diverse and exciting new ways. The time ripe for new dance in Austin!
