FQ 09 Concert - Sarayu & Ancient Sounds
Join Flute Quest 2009 for a concert with Sarayu featuring Vince Chafin & William Hoshal & Ancient Sounds.
SARAYU featuring Vince Chafin & William Hoshal
Vince Chafins passion for music led him to further explore the intricacies of Blues, R&B, Rock and even country. In 2004, Vince discovered the healing and magical properties of the Native American Flute and embarked on a personal journey to developing a powerful relationship with the Native American, Anasazi and pre-Columbian Aztec Flutes. "I have felt what these sacred instruments do to me, and I have witnessed repeatedly the healing they can bring to others," said Vince.
William Hoshal
William Hoshal is a composer, arranger, and performer. He returned to the west, relocating in the desert southwest where a lifelong fascination with indigenous music and an interest to connect with his own distant heritage ultimately led him to add the Native American flute to his musical language. Influenced by masters like R. Carlos Nakai, Doc Tate Nevaquaya and Robert Tree Cody, he began incorporating the traditions of the flute into the harmonic and rhythmic structures of jazz and contemporary classical music.
Ancient Sounds
Ancient Sounds band creates inspiring, heart-felt music themes ranging from ethnic world music through melodic light jazz. Japanese Shakuhachi, Chinese, Native American, South American, East Indian, Irish/Celtic and other World Flutes and Whistles, as well as Didgeridoos and other Ancient Winds are among the core elements bringing expressive, often exotic impact to their songs. The Ancient Winds are interwoven with ethnic percussion, piano, keyboards, synthesizer, guitar and amazing vocals.
