Growing Antique Roses with Nicole Juday
During the Saturday of our Spring Fest & Plant Sale, join us for a special presentation inspired by our upcoming Carr Garden restoration!
Local rosarian and horticulturalist Nicole Juday will share a lavishly illustrated presentation on antique rose varieties as well as tips for growing beautiful, fragrant roses year round.
Nicole has been working in the horticultural field for over decade, first as the owner of a small landscape design company. Nicole shifted her focus to the world of public horticulture and is currently the Horticulture Education Coordinator at the Barnes Foundation.
On her website, nicolejuday.com, she has written: "Philadelphia has a rich horticultural history, and my favorite topics to write and speak about relate to this heritage, and to how people have interacted with and been influenced by their environments at different time periods. My favorite plants are the stinky old roses, and other old-fashioned plants with fragrant flowers."
