Sunday Tardeada & Dance with Conjunto Los Pochos
These dances have been described as "just about the most fun you can have with your clothes on" and are quickly becoming a living tradition for conjunto music lovers across Southern California. Come have a drink or two, dance and have a great time listening to music that will surely put a smile on your face.
Los Pochos know how to lay down a foot-stompin' polka, dive into a whimsical Cumbia and then finesse a romantic Bolero. Whether singing in English or in Spanish, their music transcends language. By the end of the night, you may feel like you've somehow traveled the border from Texas to California in the matter of hours, without having left the dance floor. ¡Ajua!
Each guest will have a chance to take home prizes. Items are raffled at about 7pm. This is a family-friendly event. You are welcome to bring your own outside food (drinks must be purchased there) and parking is free. VFW Post-1944 is located 1 block north of the 60 Freeway, between Hacienda Blvd. & Azusa Ave.
Hot tips: * Buy 6 tickets or more to reserve your party's table(s) in advance * Get there early for best parking * Bring your own food (dinner) or munchies if you like (see El Pueblo Burger info below) * Bar open all night (with super reasonable prices)
We want to thank El Pueblo Burger on Gale Ave for being our local PR sponsor and helping to promote this show. They've earned 4 stars on Yelp for their great service, food and reasonable prices. It's located only one block from the VFW Post-1944, so you can stop in there to pick up your food on your way to the show. Outside food is welcome at the VFW, as they will not be cooking food this weekend.
