Summer Camp: 8/18-8/29 Owl's Odyssey: Nature Adventure Camp
Owl's Odyssey: Nature Adventure Camp Ages 10-14 9am 3 pm M-F 8/18-8/29
Known as the kung-fu master sorcerer of the forest, Owl can see and hear all. On this two-week extravaganza of awesomeness you will pursue elusive Owl as you uncover the mysteries of the natural world. During your first week, explore the old growth trees, the meadows and the lake and conduct science experiments in the Park and Center. You'll net butterflies and beetles in the meadow, learn how to call the birds in the forest, go snorkeling and search for underwater life, learn bird calls and hunt for treasures. During the second week you will go feral on a series of wild adventures! Test your courage as you rope up and learn how to climb trees high into the canopy. Hone your communication skills as you work with your partner canoeing on the lake and be a leader as you organize epic games of capture the flag and life and death in the forest. On the last Thursday of camp, celebrate with a camp out in the park, make offerings to Owl at the campfire and then go on a night hike to call Owl down from the trees. Afterwards, as you crawl into your sleeping bag and share stories of your adventures with your tent mates, you may hear Owl perched high above you, watching and protecting his new friends.
