The Roethke with Improv Anonymous
The Roethke with Improv Anonymous is an improvisational format that creates scenes based on a single poem. The improvisers create scenes and monologues based on the poem, the lines of the poem, the biography of the poet, the rhyme meter and verse forms. The scenes are intended to compliment rather than interpret the poem and poet giving the audience a new perspective on the verse.
Roethke is named in honor of Theodore Roethke the Pulitzer Prize winning poet who lived in Seattle from 1947 1963 teaching at the University of Washington.
Improv Anonymous is Unexpected Production's resident long-form group focuses on theatrical improv, combining drama, comedy, acting, music and everything between! Thursday night is Unexpected Productions' is a night when our performers will flex their artistic muscles. Come experience a different form. It is improv with impact.
