A Midsummer Night's Dream
Join us on an adventure from the elegant world of Athens to a magical fairyland of squabbles, mischief, and cut-throat competition. The annual Fairy Games provide a backdrop for intrigue, mischievous plotting, some very bad rehearsing, and romance gone wrong in this hilarious new take on the Shakespearean classic.
Shows will be on the main stage of the auditorium this year. Although our new lighting equipment will not be installed before the show, we will have some exciting new sound additions! Please park in the auditorium lot. Doors will open 15 minutes before each performance.
Please note: This adaptation was written by middle school students and contains middle school humor. The students feel strongly about their artistic choices and would like to apologize in advance for any somewhat distasteful language you may hear. They beg your forgiveness and ask simply that you imagine it was all just part of a lovely dream. To quote Puck's ending monologue:
If we shadows have offended, Think but this, and all is mended That you have but slumbered here While these visions did appear. And this weak and idle theme, No more yielding but a dream, Gentles, do not reprehend. If you pardon, we will mend.
And, as I am an honest Puck, If we have unearnèd luck Now to scape the serpents tongue, We will make amends ere long. Else the Puck a liar call. So good night unto you all. Give me your hands if we be friends, And Robin shall restore amends.
