Qualification of a New Measurement Technology for Aero Engine Health Monitoring:
GasTOPS supplies an advanced oil debris monitor (ODM) for the engines of the F22 Raptor, Joint Strike Fighter and Eurofighter aircraft as well as for the new Pratt & Whitney PW1000 geared turbofan engine that will power next generation commercial aircraft such as the Bombardier C Series and Airbus A320neo.
Dave Muir, President and CEO of GasTOPS, will present and discuss the technical and business challenges associated with the introduction of a new measurement technology for aircraft engine health monitoring. In particular, Dave will summarize the company's experience in qualifying the ODM as a sensor capable of reliably monitoring the progression of aero engine bearing and gearbox damage.
Dave Muir is a Fellow and current President of the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute (CASI).
