Handel's Alexander's Feast
BACH initiates a year long celebration of the music of G.F. Handel with a performance of Alexander's Feast, a richly scored setting of John Dryden's "Ode for St. Cecilia's Day." Among the most popular pre-oratorio works of Handel for chorus and orchestra, this musical feast features exciting choruses and arias that musically portray the gamut of human emotions.
