The Music Man (Eve 7/19/14)
On stage at the Mercedes Edwards Theatre, 'THE MUSIC MAN'. Music and Lyrics by Meredith Willson. Presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI) by CenterStage Clovis Community Theatre.

Short Synopsis: Con man Harold Hill, who poses as a boys' band organizer and leader and sells band instruments and uniforms to the naive Iowa townsfolk, promising to train the members of the new band. But Harold is no musician and plans to skip town without giving any music lessons. Prim librarian and piano teacher Marian sees through him, but when Harold helps her younger brother overcome his lisp and social awkwardness, Marian begins to fall in love. Harold risks being caught to win her.

A hit Broadway show winning 5 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, CenterStage's production features a full orchestra, professional quality scenery with local and regional theatre actors. Scott Hancock, Director of our previous season, 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' and 'Forever Plaid' brings this classic piece of musical theatre, and our top requested returning show, to the stage.
