The World Trade Center invites you to experience Washington State's distinct winegrowing regions known as American Viticultural Areas, or AVAs with an in-depth, educational wine tasting held each quarter.
Our first tasting focuses on the world-renowned Red Mountain AVA, located just west of the Tri-Cities. This special AVA is the smallest in the state at only 4,040 acres. The vineyards in the Red Mountain AVA produce grapes for some of the most sought-after wines from Washington State. Known primarily for extraordinary terroir that produces red varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, the reputation of the wines from Red Mountain has brought worldwide recognition to the region. Red Mountain's motto is: Acclaimed by Critics - Superior by Nature
Wines from Red Mountain grapes will be featured as you learn the specific nuances of the soil, climate and tastes from Red Mountain. Esteemed Seattle Sommelier Yashar Shayan and Founder at ImpulseWine.com will guide the tasting. Light appetizers from World Trade Center Chef Hans Reisinger will be served.
