Asheville Drag Brunch presents a hilariously fun fundraiser, Divine Intervention-- The Game Show, at New Belgium Brewhouse at 7:00 p.m. on July 21st. The show is appropriate for ages 21 and up. All profits will go to Blue Ridge Pride 501(c)3. Tickets are $10-15 and are available online at www.AshevilleDragBrunch.com or https://divineintervention.bpt.me
"Divine Intervention" is an hour-long hilarious "Family Feud" style guessing game with a drag queen host, real audience participation, saucy side-commentary, tacky prizes, and drag performances. This interactive show has been devised and directed by Asheville Drag Brunch. New Belgium brews will be available for sale.
The show is set during a fictional, long-running TV game show, placing the audience in the role of the studio audience and then adding drag queens as hosts. That's a recipe for fun! Real audience members are chosen as the contestants of the game and they win fabulously tacky prizes. In addition to watching and really playing the game show, the audience also witnesses a dragstravaganza of silly commercial breaks and pop-up drag performances by special guests. The show certainly makes fun of the garish gameshow genre.
