Goya and The Goldfinch
Great works of art and literature have the power to reach across time and space. Upon each viewing they reflect the artist and the observer in a twisted strand of art and life. Please join us for our first Beyond the Book experience of 2014 celebrating our love of art and literature. Begin the day with a private curated tour of Goya and the Spanish Masters at the Norton Simon Museum before it is open to the public. Then enjoy a book club luncheon at Il Fornaio in Pasadena. We will discuss NYT bestseller The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. The novel was named after the 17th century Carel Fabritius painting of the same name and is inspiring record visits to The Frick Museum in New York to see the artwork, currently being exhibited. We recommend that you read the book before the event so that you can participate in the discussion facilitated by our own Julie Robinson. Space is limited get your ticket today!
