The Afternoon Carriage House Salon Continues!: Dhaya Lakshminarayanan - Amazing Storyteller and Comedian
Exciting news!   The next event at the  "Afternoon Carriage House Salon" will feature Dhaya Lakshminarayanan, a storyteller, comedian, performance artist and a TV host.  She will be reading/telling a true story which is the template for her short film script that was a Second Round pick at The Austin Film Festival.

As a comedian, Dhaya's stand-up album DHAYATRIBE debuted at #2 on iTunes.   She is the recipient of the Liz Carpenter Award for Political Comedy (awarded to Samantha Bee and Wanda Sykes) and Comedy Central Asia's "Ultimate Comedy Challenge" filmed in Singapore. She has told stories on NPR's Snap Judgment, hosts the monthly Moth in San Francisco which defines  story telling  as a vital tool in creating a world sustained by empathy, understanding, and community; a process our society is  particularly in need of at this time.  KQED named her one of their 20 Women to Watch. She was also the host of the Emmy-award TV show "High School Quiz Show" on PBS affiliate WGBH. As a writer she has been featured in the SF Chronicle, Bay Area Book Festival, and is a proud member of her union, the Writers Guild of America West. To join her mailing list, see some of her work or buy her album, please visit www.dhayalive.com

The garden is a lovely place to visit this time of year with flowering plants and shade from our grand old trees.  After the storytelling a question and answer period will be offered followed by a champagne reception with light refreshments including savories, sweets and best of all: socializing!

Covid protocols will be followed with proof of vaccination required and a safe place to gather. Reserve your table or space as soon as possible.  The cost is $25 per person with all proceeds going to the Pardee Home Museum.  Reservation can also be made by calling Richelle Lieberman @ 510.381.1973.

Please enter the Pardee Home Garden through the white gate at 1135 Castro St (between 11th & 12th St).
