Pear and Apple Tree Grafting Intensive
Join us on Saturday, March 8, for a day-long workshop at the Alan Chadwick Garden focused on grafting apple and pear trees. The instructors are Orin Martin and Sky DeMuro of the Alan Chadwick Garden, and Matthew Sutton, owner of Orchard Keepers .
In this hands-on workshop, instructors will lead participants through grafting young pome fruit trees, and participants will graft a tree to take home. We will also demonstrate how to "top graft" new varieties onto older, established trees. This workshop is geared towards beginner and intermediate backyard orchardists and fruit tree enthusiasts. Some knowledge of fruit trees will be helpful, but everyone is welcome.
Workshop Cost: $95 general/$85 Friends of the UCSC Farm & Garden/$50 UCSC students and limited income
