"R" is an unpredictable "burlesque," driven by an ensemble of engaging female vocalists through a wide range of musical genres en route to a glimmering finale. Musical numbers including Pop, Broadway, Movie Scores and more will take you from Old Berlin Cabaret, to off Broadway, to Hollywood, Las Vegas and even, perhaps, a tiny hint of Amsterdam's Red Light District. "R" is the first of its kind to grace the ALA stage since its 1st season, three years ago.
Ruby Rose Theatre Company in conjunction with ALA, brings its glinting, thorny edge to this production, with searing truth, cheekiness, camp and kink. Shining vocals are delivered with entertaining wit and puzzling quirk, creating a pleasing dream that will reach your heart with intrigue and passion. The Production Team includes experienced South Florida artists: Gisbert Heuer-Producer/Director; Sally Rose-Producer; Tori Brown-Stage Manager; with production assistance from Rosalie Grant of Evening Star Productions and Bob Nation of Andrews Living Arts. The Team has assembled a talented and alluring cast: Dana DellaCamera, Michelle Rose Domb, Stephanie White, Niki Van der Merwe, and Sally Rose.
